You’re worth showing up for.

Real people. Real therapy. Real change.

At Cedar and Stone, our therapists are real people—curious, compassionate, and deeply human. We know what it’s like to navigate life’s challenges and understand that healing begins with feeling seen and supported just as you are. Each of us brings advanced training in trauma-informed and somatic therapies, along with a genuine belief in your capacity to heal and grow. We’ll meet you with warmth, skill, and presence, walking beside you as you reconnect with yourself and build the life you want to live.

Jim McGeragle

Jim's Training & Credentials

MC, RP (Qualifying), CCC

Jim’s aim is to support you in finding your own sense of happiness and learning how to place it at the centre of your life.

He believes healing begins when you feel genuinely heard and have a space where you can show up as your most honest, authentic self. In your work with him, he will help you reconnect with yourself, gently clear what’s been holding you back, and discover new, more nourishing ways of being.

Jim works from a trauma-informed, body-based perspective, recognizing that healing happens not just through insight, but through the nervous system. He is trained in EMDR, Brainspotting, and Somatic Experiencing, and he works extensively with complex and developmental trauma. Together, you will listen to what your body holds, move at a pace that feels safe, and create room for lasting change that supports your wellbeing and joy.

Jim’s style is grounded, compassionate, and relaxed. Someone once described him as “somber with a hint of glee”—a description he embraces by holding space for the heavy and painful parts of life while still leaving room for lightness and humour. He leans toward person-centered and experiential approaches, meeting you where you are and trusting your innate capacity for growth.

Jim is especially passionate about supporting people through life transitions, early adulthood and career or school challenges, healing from complex trauma, and helping new parents do the deeper work that fosters responsive, flexible, and connected parenting. His passion is working in a way that helps both you the people you love thrive.

His rate is $150 per hour, and reduced rates are available to ensure therapy is accessible for everyone.

Motivation comes from within. We’re here to help you find it.
